Reporting and Customisation

Because we understand that each business is different, we've added some powerful customisation features into PowerLink.  

With the Reports Designer you can create your own Attaché and PowerLink reports or change the standard reports provided.  The Report Wizard allows anyone to create reports.

The Solution Builder allows you to create your own forms, with your own fields.  From simple forms for entering extra information about customers, products, jobs etc to powerful applications with e-mail and internet capability. 

There are also plenty of other customisation features which are designed to make PowerLink work even better in your business.

Reports Designer features include:

 
 
  • Design your own reports using virtually any data source including Attaché ODBC tables, PowerLink tables, ODBC tables, MS Access databases and more.

  • Report data is selected by creating SQL queries.  You can have nested SQL queries in reports allowing for very complex reporting.

  • Sort and group data up to five levels.  For example, sort a report by Sales Rep, Customer, Product and so on.  Sub-total available at each level.

  • Add parameters to your reports.  These can include drop down lists, check boxes and text boxes to give reports a professional look.

  • Print reports to screen, printer or disk file.  

  • Create Attaché KFI file reports.  Files are automatically numbered and archived after import.

  • Automatically create reports using the Reports Wizard.  The wizard generates SQL automatically so you do not need to know SQL.

  • Link external Crystal Reports and run directly from PowerLink.  The Crystal Run-time is included in PowerLink so you do not have to have Crystal installed to run a report.

  • Design your own forms.  You can design forms for maintaining and entering data, performing enquiries, or to create other applications.  

  • Add controls to your forms including text boxes, look-up boxes, frames, check boxes and more.

  • Add your own HTML help to your forms.  Users press F1 to see how to use forms which you have created.

  • Forms can have sub-forms to allow transaction entry and enquiry screens.

  • Program your forms to respond to events such as button and function key presses, data changed in a control, deleting data and more.

  • Send and receive files across the internet using the built in FTP commands.

  • Send and receive e-mails using the built in MAIL command.

  • Automate tasks using the Form Timer event.  For example, check for new orders in Attaché and send an email to the sales manager if the margin is too low.

  • Update PowerLink and Attaché data files directly using the built in data objects.  For example, you can add new customers in Attaché, or jobs in PowerLink using your own customised data entry forms.

  • Create your own custom tables to store data.  

  • Create action queries to delete, update and append records in custom tables.

  • Menu level security.  Each user can be given access or denied access for each program.

  • Customise menu's for each user.  Provide your own menu descriptions for more familiarity and ease of use.

  • Customise on-line help screens to include specific company procedures, diagrams or other information

  • Link to external data sources (Excel, Access or ODBC).  Eg. Add a lookup field on customer screen which shows information not held in PowerLink.

  • Export reports directly to MS Word or MS Excel for further manipulation (eg. insert into company reports), or to send via email.

  • Sophisticated data integrity and validation tools

  • Advanced searching capability.  For example, search for a product with a phrase contained in description, or based on supplier etc
